Trekking Kari Kari (Full day tour)
The artificial lakes of Kari Kari, considered very important component for the mining structure, are located in the eastern part of town in the foothills of the Cordillera Kari Kari.
The construction of these lasted almost half a century and included about 20 thousand natives in their construction. The route offers beautiful scenery on country walks.
We pick you up from your hotel and go to the place for beginning the trek. We start at 4200 meters above the sea level.
The hike climbs upward along a valley floor to the Lake of San Fernando, passing through tiny village’s en-route.
|
We trek alongside the lake shore and past various aqueducts, stopping for lunch and to rest, before climbing to the peak of Apacheta.
This is the highest point of the trek at approximately 4900m and the views are spectacular. But we also can keep on walking in the lower part if you are affected by altitude.
Then we go back to Potosí.
