Potosi City Tour VIP     (Full day tour)

Potosí, the colonial city is characterized by its architecture, its beautiful churches, monasteries, temples, towers, and colonial mansions which decorate the narrow streets of Potosi.

This city is located at the foot of Cerro Rico. (4.070 meters above sea level). It is the highest city in the world.

The UNESCO declared the city of Potosí a "World Heritage Site" in recognition for its rich history and its wealth of colonial architecture.

We begin the tour walking and visiting the oldest part of the city, the main Square (Plaza 10 de Noviembre), the colonial buildings around the square and then we visit Potosí his most important museum: The Mint House (Casa de la Moneda). This visit takes 2 hours approximately and the temperature inside the building is very cold.

The Museum of “Casa de la Moneda”, is considered the most important civil building in Latin America. Actually it is a museum and historical archive. Since 1940 began his activities as a museum. You can see the first coins minted in silver and the minting machines from different periods.

There is also a fine selection of religious paintings from different schools and different periods. This museum is really interesting and worthwhile visit.
Mines Potosi Tour

At 12:30 approx. we have the lunch in a local restaurant.

In the afternoon at 14:30 we visit the Convent of Santa Teresa which maintains its colonial architecture and has one of the finest collections of paintings in the country and various objects of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.

Afterwards we do a walking tour to see the colonial architecture of this city.
We finish the tour at 17:30
