Maragua Crater Tour - 2 Days/1 Night
Day 1:
From the chapel of Chataquila on the rim of the Cordillera de los Frailes you walk down the Inca trail to Chaunaca while you enjoy impressive views all around. When you reach Chaunaca our car will pick you up and take you to the Ravelo River where we have a break and you can swim if you like.
Next the car will cross the river and will take you to the crater of Maragua.
We settle ourselves in the country houses; there you have a kitchen and the dinner will be made before dark because there´s no electricity and it will be a romantic candlelight dinner in the middle of the crater.
Don’t want to do any hiking but just want to enjoy the view from the car? It’s still worth the trip! Around the village there are lots of things to see as well. Locals will be happy to show you their weavings and the way they live. You can also visit the cemetery, the waterfalls and the Sacred Cave under the waterfall.
Not for people with vertigo.
